Absolutely loved the food here! We had the Chilli Chicken and Butter Naan and both were incredibly delicious. The naan was soft, buttery and paired perfectly with the flavorful, slightly spicy Chilli Chicken.
Fun tip: the Chilli Chicken isn’t listed on the menu but you can ask for it specially—and trust me, it’s worth it!
Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving something flavorful and comforting. 🌶🍞✨

I absolutely loved the food here! The biryani was perfectly authentic—fragrant, flavorful, and beautifully prepared with plums and rich spices that made it truly special. It tasted just like traditional homemade biryani.
The authentic Nepali goat curry was also outstanding. The goat was tender, and the curry had deep, comforting flavors with the perfect balance of spices. You can really tell the dishes are made with care and authenticity.
Highly recommend this place if you enjoy genuine Indian and Nepali cuisine. I will definitely be coming back!

Came in with a big group, including toddlers. The workers were so kind and even brought out Mango Lassi's for the small kids to enjoy. The food was just as great. I only tried dishes that were mild and medium in heat. I enjoyed the medium level most, it had just enough heat to still enjoy the flavors.
As this was the first time I ate there, I was sad to hear the buffet had been shut down a few years back, it's sometime I would have liked to try more of the dishes they offer!
We will definitely be back!

Our experience eating here was nothing short of incredible. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely perfect. They had generous portions, very fair for the price, and we will absolutely go back next time we are in town. They also treated our children with such love and care. It is highly evident that this restaurant is ran by some amazing people who really care about providing their customers with some of the best food you can enjoy.

Pure comfort food deliciousness! Had Mo Mo ( won ton dumplings, steamed with chicken) and a yummy dipping sauce; butter chicken (you can request a spicy as you want it); and basil garlic naan. Everything was so good. It was perfection. We will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Highly recommend the chana masala. We also got the garlic basil naan, which was great. The fresh onions were a VERY nice touch! I’d love to come back someday

The Himalayan Kitchen was an excellent experience. A local recommended it to me, and it did not disappoint.
I ordered the butter chicken, which can be prepared mild, medium, or hot. I chose hot, and it definitely had some heat—but it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and well-balanced. I also had both the plain naan and garlic naan, and both were outstanding.
The basmati rice was cooked to perfection, and every part of the meal was excellent. The restaurant was very clean, the service was exceptional, and the prices were fair. The portions were generous enough that I had leftovers to take with me.
I've traveled and worked in India, and I can honestly say the food here is spot on. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine, The Himalayan Kitchen is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

Great local Indian restaurant in Rapid City. We came in hungry and left full and satisfied. The service is quick and friendly and the food is absolutely great! The food is reasonably priced. The Chicken Malasa medium spicy with gerlic Naan is great and is highly recommended. If your looking for a geat place to eat in Rapid City: this is it!

Today was a first for both of us.
We had a VERY tasty lunch at our first South Asian restaurant.
Neither of us knew what to expect, so after studying the menu, we decided on Fish Coconut Korma (no heat/mild) w/ basmati rice for Pam, bone-in Goat Biryani (medium heat) w/ a side of yogurt sauce for Dave, and Garlic Naan to share.
Pam also washed down her meal with a SUPER tasty Mango Lassi; essentially a sweetened mango-yogurt smoothie.
The portions were large, and we could not finish everything, but it was all SO GOOD we wanted to keep eating.
We wanted to try their yummy-sounding desserts, but we just had no belly room left.😁
If you’re in Rapid City, and looking for an “out of the ordinary” meal that’s super tasty; check out Himalayan Kitchen. They have something for everyone’s palate.

My husband and I come here almost every date night! This is our favorite restaurant in Rapid City. Delicious food, perfect spice level, attention to detail, and the nicest staff. They know us now, and when we come in, they always greet us so sweetly and take such good care of us. This is the best place!
